Linz, April 2026. On April 24, 2026, Pro2Future GmbH participated in the Lange Nacht der Forschung, Austria’s nationwide long night of research, at Johannes Kepler Universität Linz. The event, open to the public from 5 PM to 11 PM, drew visitors of all ages to experience science and technology first-hand. Pro²Future was represented with two interactive stations, both dedicated to the practical application of artificial intelligence in industrial production.
Station 1: How does autonomous AI work safely alongside humans in production?
The first station addressed one of the central challenges in modern manufacturing: enabling AI systems to operate autonomously while remaining safe for human collaboration. Unlike cloud-based AI, the focus here was on embedded intelligence — systems in which sensor technology (perception), actuators (movement), and AI (control logic) interact seamlessly to enable autonomous action in industrial environments.

Visitors experienced live what rules AI must follow to work safely with humans on the factory floor of tomorrow.
The demonstration made clear that the path to intelligent production is not about replacing human judgment, but about building systems that can operate reliably within it.
Station 2: My buddy, the robot — how are machines made fit for people?
The second station brought human-robot collaboration to life. By combining a broad array of sensors with machine learning, Pro2Future researchers demonstrated how robots can be equipped with advanced cognitive capabilities, enabling them to actively support production processes and work alongside people in a meaningful way.

Visitors were able to witness this collaboration directly and gain an understanding of the research that makes it possible.
