COEVOLVE Project Kick Off: Shaping the Future of AI-Driven Automotive Embedded Systems

On October 31st, 2025, we proudly launched the COEVOLVE project: Co-Evolution of Software and Hardware – a four-year research initiative that aims to explore how Artificial Intelligence can revolutionize the development of automotive embedded systems.

The kick-off meeting, held in Graz, Austria, brought together a powerhouse consortium of academic and industrial partners, each a leader in their domain. The event was moderated by Amer Kajmakovic, Area Manager of Cognitive Products at Pro²Future, who also serves as the Project Manager for COEVOLVE.

COEVOLVE sets out to investigate how AI can support engineers in their daily development tasks by enabling the co-evolution of hardware and software. With a team of 3 PhD researchers, 2 PostDocs, and the backing of top-tier institutions and companies, the project is poised to make a significant impact on the future of AI-assisted engineering.

We are honored to collaborate with:
Technische Universität Graz, Embedded Architectures & Systems Group,
Marcel Baunach, Tobias Scheipel, Florian Riedl
AUMOVIO: Lorand Janosi, Judith Schaeffer, Daniel Baer, Tudor Nicosevici, Jörg Dietrich
Elektrobit: Alexander Mattausch, Lukas Reinhart, Marko Huttu
Infineon Technologies: Gerhard Wirrer,
Pro2Future GmbH: Gerd Hribernig, Aimen Medjek, Amer Kajmakovic

The meeting was marked by a vibrant exchange of ideas, where we identified key challenges and outlined the technological and methodological directions for the project. The collaborative spirit and shared vision among partners set a strong foundation for the journey ahead.

We’re excited to tackle these challenges together and contribute to the next generation of intelligent, safe, and efficient automotive systems.
