Reflection on 10th Pro²Future Partner Conference

On 3 September 2025, we celebrated a special milestone: the 10th Pro²Future Partner Conference. We were delighted to welcome a number of our long-standing partners in person at Johannes Kepler University Linz. Following the opening remarks by Prof. Gabriele Kotsis, our Scientific Director Prof. Alois Ferscha officially inaugurated Epoch II of Pro²Future.

A keynote by Assoc. Prof. Dr Johannes Brandstetter (LIT AI Lab, JKU-ML and co-founder of Emmi AI) on “The next wave of disruption in engineering” set the stage for inspiring discussions.

After the break, the focus shifted to our doctoral researchers. During the 1st Pro²Future Doctoral Colloquium, PhD candidates who were close to completing or had recently completed their dissertations presented their research results and engaged in in-depth academic exchange.

This was followed by an Industry Talk with associated Pro²Future guests: Dr Wolfgang Roland (NGR), Dr Muaaz Abdul Hadi (co-founder of MUST Visibility, FFG Fellowship), Dr Kevin Schwarzinger (Primetals) and Dr Joseph Paradiso (MIT Media Lab, ISAB member).

To conclude the conference, our CEO DI Gerd Hribernig presented the centre’s service portfolio. In addition to research activities, Pro²Future offers further services such as licensing, consulting and training. He also provided an outlook on future offerings for our industry partners.

Throughout the conference, research progress and results were showcased in the form of posters. This highlighted the close collaboration with our industry partners and demonstrated how their support contributes to improvements in industrial environments. All research posters are available at: https://www.pro2future.at/poster-collection/

The Partner Conference once again underlined the importance of continuous exchange between science and industry for the successful further development of the centre.
