Last Friday, January 16, 2026, the Workshop on Industrial Visualization took place in Linz and virtually via Zoom. The workshop brought together researchers from Pro²Future, the Institute of Pervasive Computing (JKU) and the Institute of Visual Computing to discuss current projects with concrete visualization needs and strong focus on industrial applications.
The workshop opened with an introduction by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Alois Ferscha, who presented ongoing projects from the Institute of Pervasive Computing that require advanced visualization approaches. This was followed by an input from Univ.-Prof. Dr. Tobias Schreck, highlighting projects from the Institute of Visual Computing with a particular emphasis on visualization techniques and methods.
An open discussion session allowed participants to exchange perspectives and identify shared challenges. The workshop concluded with a joint discussion on potential next steps and future collaboration opportunities.
