The master’s examination of Area 4.2 (Cognitive Production Systems) Area Manager DI Dr. Markus Brillinger took place on September 20, 2023, in the rooms of the smartfactory. After his first technical master’s degree (2015) and his doctorate in mechanical engineering (2018), Markus Brillinger wanted to know it again and enrolled during the pandemic to study industrial engineering, which he has now completed very successfully.
In his master’s thesis he deals with the influence of the alloying element lead in metals on wear during machining processes and the associated costs. The title of the master’s thesis is “Optimization approaches in the machining of lead-free brass as a significant contribution to ecological and economic sustainability in production”, supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Franz Haas from the Institute for Production Engineering t TU Graz, cooperation partners were companies from the manufacturing industry, several COMET research centers and some universities.
